Oversized Watering Tankard

$0.00
Sold

About: This is a large tin watering can / tankard / jug. The seams are brazed in lead while the handle features a little copper gusset for added strength. Based on the form, the piece is likely English and dating to 1930s-50s.

Why We Love It: With the shape of a tankard and the scale of a garden watering can, this piece immediately grabbed our attention for its form, age and handmade details. The seams are hand brazed / welded likely with lead. It would make a killer centerpiece vase or just use it as a functional garden piece.

Condition: Lots of dents and dings (another reason we love it). The seams are tight and the piece still holds liquids.

Dims: 11” Tall x 8” Diameter at the base. 10.5” wide handle to spout

Location: Sperryville, VA
