Malachite Box by Charles Henry, England

$695.00

About: A purveyor of very fine boxes and gift items, Charles Henry of Manchester England pieces appear to be of the highest of quality despite the paucity of information about the brand. This faux painted gloss lacquered malachite and silk lined letter box is no exception. Given the heavy adornment of geometric gothic brass ormolu, this piece was likely manufactured in Russia before the Bolshevik Revolution. We’re having a hard time giving this one up. c.1910-30

Marked with “Charles Henry, located at 22 King St., Manchester” original paper label to the bottom.

Why We Love It: Malachite anything is always cool and the brass gothic ormolu puts it over the top.

Condition: Excellent condition with some shelf wear and nicks here and there. Hinges and ormolu are intact. Silk lining is tear free and vibrant.

Dims: 8” W x 6” D x 4.35” H

Location: Philadelphia, PA
