Fancy Plywood Game Board

$0.00
Sold

About: This is a painted game board on plywood c.1920-1940. The center of the board functions as chess or checkers while the border is embellished with fanciful geometric patterns. This is a handmade piece: the black portions appear to be stained but have a pyrographic quality to their texture.

Why We Love It: This game board is not only a stunning functional thing of beauty, but on a wall it’s a work of art! With such strong graphic presence, we are swooning.

Condition: Age related mellowing of the finish with mild orange peeling of the shellac and a perfect warm glow. A few nicks and dings here and there but very sturdy and ready to hang (or use).

Dims: 30” x 30” x 0.5” Thick

Location: Sperryville, VA
