English Double Saddle Stand

$1,295.00

About: This late Georgian double saddle stand features exceptional little flourishes which elevate what could otherwise be an ordinary piece of tack room furniture into something far more interesting: turned legs and feet, scalloped skirt and double pegged construction abound. A brass briddle hook remains at one end.

The stand is constructed of pine which, after years of use in stables, has taken on an honest dry finish. We’ve decided to leave the finish alone but a coat of oil might make the entire piece pop.

Why We Love It: We can imagine this wonderful object sitting in a classic English stable in Hunt Country, awaiting a day of riding. Use it as originally intended or for displaying textiles such as quilts.

Condition: Showing wear but very sturdy. There is a chip to the top (second to last image), scuff marks, the odd pit of paint and a few worm holes here and there. One foot has deteriorated by 1/2” (last image) which makes the stand a touch uneven.

Dims: 54” Long x 24” Wide at the Base x 42 in Tall

Location: Sperryville, VA
